After the success of YDF Dubai, RiseUp is bringing a new program focused completely on youth leadership and real on-ground impact. The Sustainable Leaders Forum SLF is designed to support young people who aim to develop their leadership abilities while pursuing their life purpose .

Through interactive sessions, mentorship and teamwork-based activities participants explore how to think critically communicate effectively and solve challenges within their communities.

Selection - Phases

Apply Early to Maximize Your Chances

30 Fully funded seats are allocated in 3 shortlisting phases across the month. The earlier you apply, the more phases your application is reviewed in, increasing your probability of being selected.

Rolling selection across 3 deadlines

Applications submitted earlier are considered in more than one phase. Late submissions compete only for the remaining seats.

How the 3 Phases Work

Each phase has its own review deadline. Seats are gradually filled, so the number of seats available decreases with every phase.

Phase 3 · Days 21–30

Seats available: Only the last few funded seats remain.
Chance of selection: Limited.
Review rounds: Considered only once in Phase 3.
Last-minute option with highest competition and the fewest seats available.

Phase 2 · Days 11–20

Seats available: Only those not filled in Phase 1.
Chance of selection: Medium.
Review rounds: Considered in Phase 2 and carried forward to Phase 3.
Good option, but you compete for fewer remaining seats than in Phase 1.

Phase 1 · Days 1–10

Seats available: All 30 funded seats.
Chance of selection: Highest.
Review rounds: Considered in Phase 1 and automatically carried forward to Phases 2 & 3 if not yet selected.
Best time to apply. Your application stays in the pool for all remaining phases.

Why applying in the earlier phase matters?

  • Phase 1 applicants are reviewed in all three shortlisting rounds (1, 2, and 3) until all seats are filled.
  • Phase 2 applicants enter later and are reviewed in Phase 2 and 3 only.
  • Phase 3 applicants are reviewed once in the final round, for the last remaining seats.
  • Seats are reduced after every phase, so competition increases over time.
  • Early applicants can be contacted sooner if any clarification or missing documents are needed.

Applications are reviewed by our expert team based on leadership potential, community involvement and relevance to event themes.

No. Selection is merit-based. However, Phase 1 applications are reviewed in all three phases, which gives them more opportunities to be selected compared to later applications.

No. You submit the application once. If you apply early, your profile automatically moves forward into the next phases until seats are filled or the process ends.

Results will be announced a few weeks after the deadline. All applicants will be notified via email.
